Conflict-aversion among liberals

Too many liberals are conflict-averse. Martin King says ” . . . the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate (liberal), who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice . . . ” . So, while they might like to say things like “we have much more in common . . .” they can’t talk to the other side, and they can’t talk to groups like BCS, who actually talk and work with “the other side”.
