URGENT: call for action

Yesterday’s speaking event has an outcome already. Here is the general idea from Norman Finkelstein and Brattleboro Solidarity. PLEASE collaborate.

The Palestinians are planning to storm the gates of Israel on the 14th to protest their inhumane incarceration in Gaza, which has been condemned by the UN. and is a death camp, but Israel has managed an effective media black-out. The Israelis warn that no entry will be tolerated, regardless of the conditions there. Even as the protesters have gathered peacefully in recent weeks Israeli soldiers have killed forty people and injured a thousand people. Since Bernie Sanders has publicly expressed sympathy for the Palestinians, we must prevail on him to visit Gaza. The media and cameras will follow and inhibit Israel forces from from slaughtering the Palestinians as they storm the gates. Call Bernie’s office (202 224-5141). The Palestinians will throw themselves on the barbwire and guns of the Israelis. Without Bernie’s intervention there may well be a new massacre, like the Masada, but worse.

So far the plan includes a demonstration at Pliny Park in Brattleboro Friday evening and general media publicity: social media postings, letters in the newspapers, radio commentary. I was on the WOOC radio 105.3 with the call for action and have been on local radio recently and so I probably can’t go on again, but I can arrange a radio interview for a volunteer.
